Twenty world leaders all together in one place, requires more than your normal event logistics. WRG Creative Communications were tasked with providing the overall production elements of the London Summit 2009, and in turn contracted Delta Sound to provide full audio support.
Three months of pre planning and production came together with a team of fifteen sound engineers on site servicing the entire event. Delta Sound's Steve Lutley headed up the Project as on site Head of Department and worked alongside WRG's Production team to facilitate all audio requirements. With the entire length of the South side of Excel being used in one way or another for the summit Delta Sound sent a full to the brim 40ft trailer to site to service the event. With deployment of over two hundred ways of loudspeaker, eighteen mixing consoles, plus Radar and a Pro Tools system for record and archive the entire on site team needed to be on the ball from day one of the fit up.
Along with Delta Sound, Delta Communications were also deployed to site to provide over 380 ways of secure trunked radio system running 24hours a day to provide faultless communications to all the technical departments on site. A full site survey had been conducted before arriving on site, as well as detailed meetings with all the relevant technical companies and security services. Delta Sound who are no strangers to London's governing and emergency bodies, were able to supply all frequency management information well in advance for all concerned parties.
With now over twenty Delta team on site it was finally supplemented by Delta's Lee Dennison, who not to be out done by Mr Lutley proved that many a memorable audio design can be created with twenty horns and a large car park and crowned his sound design career off with a major installation for all the leaders drivers in their own underground secure area. Various leaked sound bite's from several world leaders stated that they had "never heard a car park like It" and "Chad the laws of physics been broken"!.
But with the serious nature of the G20 conference drawing to an end and various agreements on the table for all world leaders to work through, Delta Sound once again proved why it is a also a world leader in its field with Audio system design and supply, by servicing to the highest possible standards all audio aspects of this event.
